Sustainability

Our customers trust us to be good stewards of the resources we use. We are proud of our Grind2Energy program, which turns food scraps into usable energy. We have Grind2Energy machines located in all of our full service stores,and we have converted food scraps into liquid energy that can be used to power homes and businesses.

Our associates live our values every day.
  • Service: We will treat every customer like a beloved family member or friend and find a way to say “yes” to our customers. It’s important that we engage with every customer that enters our store, and follow the 10/4 rule. At the end of any interaction with a customer, we will offer a sincere “Thank you for your business!”
  • Passion: We have a passion for excellence and to be the best at what we do. We will seek product knowledge and commit to quality by believing in the Sendik’s brand.
  • Nimbleness: We will provide great solutions for our customers by exploring all possibilities and welcoming change. We will be quick to respond to our guests and use “Red Truck Service” when additional assistance is needed.

We invest in and value associate referals

BEEP: Bring Employees, Earn Pay! One of the greatest compliments we can receive is a referral from one of our associates. Associates who refer family members or friends for a job with Sendik’s could earn between $100-$500 if they are hired on and stay at least 90 days! Visit our associate portal for more information.

Red Truck Moments

Our associates’ hospitality hearts are not only noticed by the company, but by our customers, too! Red Truck Moments are compliments received by customers on our outstanding associates. Associates who receive a Red Truck moment receive a red truck pin, certificate, and a shout-out in the newsletter.A brief description highlighting the key message or action users can take.

Recognizing and rewarding outstanding associates is a key part of Sendik's culture. Every month we celebrate an associate who demonstrates exceptional performance, dedication and customer service. The associate is rewarded with a gift and company-wide recognition!

Milestone Recognition Program

Our associates work hard and deserve recognition for their loyalty and years of service! Our Milestone program observes associates with a gift and company recognition starting at 5 years of service and at every 5 year increment thereafter (5 years, 10 years, 15 years, 20 years, and so on).
